March is just around the corner, so it’s time to dig into the movies and television shows based on books coming out in March. The biggest of the month is by far Project Hail Mary, based on the Andy Weir book. How big is this movie? There’s a Project Hail Mary LEGO set, that’s how big.
That’ll be in the theaters along with a few others. Viewers who plan to stay in and stream this month are in for a treat with a ton of new television adaptations.
Let’s take a look at the Book to Movie/TV Adaptations for March 2026.
New Film Adaptations
Colleen Hoover‘s books have been all over the big screen lately, and that shows no signs of stopping. Her latest book to make the big screen is Reminders of Him, which releases in theaters on March 13th, 2026. The film stars Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, and Lainey Wilson in her film debut. The author is taking a more hands-on approach with this film as she co-wrote the screenplay with Lauren Levine.
This month’s biggest book adaptation is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. The author had tremendous box office success with The Martian, and thinks it looks as if it could be more of the same. Ryan Gosling stars as Dr. Ryland Grace as he makes a trip to space to save the world. Project Hail Mary releases in theaters on March 20th, 2026. [Trailer]

New TV Adaptations
The show is actually a couple of years old, but the latest iteration of The Count of Monte Cristo is making its North American premiere this month. The story has been adapted many times, but it is almost always an excellent production, and this one looks no different. Alexandre Dumas‘ novel, like his main character, just won’t die. The English language miniseries stars Sam Claflin as Edmond Dantes and Jeremy Irons as Abbé Faria. The Count of Monte Cristo premieres on PBS Masterpiece and Prime Video March 1st, 2026. [Trailer]

Jo Nesbø is an incredibly successful novelist who is no stranger to adaptations. The Harry Hole series was adapted into a film, The Snowman in 207, but now it is getting the series treatment. One Piece by Eiichiro Oda is the best-selling manga in history, and has led to the anime adaptation which is also one of the most popular animes of all-time. The live action version of the show returns with Season 2 on Netflix March 10th, 2026.
