The Caffè Nero Book Awards for 2024 have been handed out!
The awards are often just called the “Nero Book Awards,” not to be confused with the Nero Award (presented by The Wolfe Pack). These awards are presented by the coffeehouse Caffè Nero, in conjunction with Brunel University of London and The Booksellers Association.
The Caffè Nero Book Awards exist to celebrate the best books from the UK and Ireland in the categories of Fiction, Debut Fiction, Children’s Fiction, and Non-Fiction. They began in 2023, and were quick to establish themselves among the top British and Irish prizes in the literary field.
2024 Caffè Nero Book Award Winners
Congratulations to all four winners! They each receive a cool £5,000 prize.
But that’s not all! The winner of each category has a chance to win the Nero Gold Prize (Book of the Year), which will be announced on March 5th, 2025 in London. The winner of that will also receive a £30,000 prize.
This prestigious award has quickly become a highlight in the literary calendar, offering recognition not only to established authors but also to new voices and fresh perspectives. The judges, composed of esteemed figures from the literary world, industry professionals, and academics, face the challenging task of selecting the best from a wealth of extraordinary talent.
