One of the first things you will want to do at Book Notification is customize your e-mail settings, so you only receive the emails and information you want.

All of our e-mails come from hello@booknotification.com, so you may want to whitelist that e-mail so it doesn’t get caught in any spam filters.

While the Email Settings section explains each option, this page provides examples to help you decide what to subscribe to. You’re subscribed to all of our primary features by default, except book clubs.

This is the primary reason to sign up for Book Notification, and you won’t want to unsubscribe from this!

Every Tuesday morning, we send one email with any new releases and upcoming books by authors you follow. We include the date, author’s name, book title, and the series it belongs to, and we list books releasing over the next six months.

You can see an example of past monthly newsletters here. This is the only way to stay updated on new features on the site. We launch new features every month, so we recommend staying subscribed to this one! It’s emailed once per month, usually on the last day.

Our Entertainment Editor Vince works with Book Notification staff and fellow readers, to curate a list of 12 book recommendations across a variety of genres. This is e-mailed out every Friday, and if you are interested in new book recommendations, we advise staying subscribed .

Stay subscribed if you want updates on movie or TV show adaptations of books by authors you follow.

Adaptation news isn’t a separate e-mail; it’s included in the regular Tuesday e-mail. It provides one-off information on adaptations based on authors you follow (“Reacher Season 4 to be based on Gone Tomorrow“), or reminding you of upcoming release dates of adaptations based on authors you follow (“The Housemaid by Freida McFadden releases on theatres on December 19th”).

Book Notification has the best and most complete book club listing online, and we can keep you informed of new book club picks.

Similar to adaptations, book club news isn’t a separate e-mail. It’s included in the regular Tuesday e-mail. You will receive one-time news about any book clubs that you subscribe to. Clicking the checkbox beside “Book Club Picks” will subscribe you to updates from all listed clubs.

You will only be notified of each book club pick once. If The Late Show Book Club made their December 2025 pick on December 1st, we would notify you in the weekly email on Tuesday, December 2nd. You would not get notified of that pick again in any future weekly e-mails.
