At Book Notification, we chose not to automatically set page counts or audiobook lengths for books.
Instead, we put that control in your hands.
Page counts can vary widely between editions — Kindle, paperback, hardcover, large print, and special editions can all differ. Some versions may include bonus chapters or additional material, altering the final page count.
Rather than assign a potentially arbitrary number and invite debate, we let you set your own page count based on the edition you read.
How To Set A Page Count:
When marking a book as read using the “Book Manage” popup, go to the Book Data tab:

This screen allows you to enter the number of pages and audiobook length. You can also record how long it took you to read the book, if desired.

To set the page count, edit the Number of Pages field:

You can see your data year by year on the reading challenge page. Here is an example:

How To Log Audiobook Length:
You can track the length of any audiobook using the same method.
When marking a book as read, open the Book Data tab in the “Book Manage” popup:

That will take you to this screen:

Enter the audiobook duration in hours and minutes here:

Page Count / Audiobook Length F.A.Q.:
Q: Can I edit the page count later?
Yes. Simple open the Book Manage popup for that particular book, select “Book Data” and you can change the page count.
Q: Do I have to fill this out for every book?
No. It’s completely optional. If you skip it, the book will still count toward your Reading Challenge, just without page/audio stats. We only offer this option for people who wish to track page counts or hours listened.
