Hello, everyone, and welcome to another week of book picks.
We’re entering the point of the year where the nominees and winners of book awards are being released. The year really flies by, and it never helps that we’ve collectively decided the year ends earlier and earlier each year. This time of year is always a reminder to me of how bad I am at keeping up with new book releases. So many of the nominees weren’t even on my radar, despite all the research I do on new books. In my own reading, I typically pick a genre, read some of the best of it, and then move on to another genre. Release date is often irrelevant to me.
Still, the end-of-the-year lists always help to build up the reading list for next year. I haven’t read every National Book Award winner, but I’ll get there eventually.
That’s all I have for this week. Let’s get to the picks.
