Book Notification Weekly Picks: November 7th, 2025
[Read Online]

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another week of book picks. I think that I’m a pretty voracious reader, but going on social media makes me really question if that’s true or what that even means. I follow a lot of different creators, and one thing I am consistently struck by is just how much some people read. Last month, I saw someone recommending a book that they had just finished. In the video, they said it was the 100th book they finished this year. It was October. That’s ten books per month. A new book every three days, and, you know what? Maybe I’m not such a voracious reader after all. Which is fine with me. I like to sit with the books I read for a few days before starting a new one. I finished Slaughterhouse-Five earlier this week, and I’m still sitting with it. There’s just so much to unpack, and so many ideas, which we barely scratched the surface of on the I Care About Books Podcast (coming soon!), that I’d rather take some more time with it before starting new. I’d never presume to tell other people how to read. I have a hard enough time recommending what to read, but I will say this: it doesn’t have to be a race. Read as fast or as slow as you want to. Just make sure you’re taking the time to enjoy it, and not trying to keep up with the Joneses. Speaking of recommendations, don’t miss out on this week’s fantasy pick, which comes from a reader of this newsletter who is also the book’s author. How about that? That’s all I have for this week. Let’s get to the picks. Vince Entertainment Editor @ Book Notification |
