Since launching in June 2017, Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club has helped reshape the world of celebrity book clubs.
It has become one of the biggest and most influential celebrity book clubs, with many of its monthly picks quickly landing on bestseller lists.
What started as a monthly book club has grown into a much larger media brand, including the recent launch of Sunnie Reads.
Based on Book Notification data, here are the five most popular Reese’s Book Club picks as of March 2026. These rankings are based on which books Book Notification users have marked as “read” the most.
View on Amazon.comDaisy Jones & The Six was the March 2019 pick by Reese’s Book Club. This announcement was made prior to the book’s release on March 5th, and saw it top the New York Times fiction bestseller list.
Daisy Jones & The Six was also included in Parade’s Best Romance Books of All Time List in 2024. It was adapted into a TV miniseries in 2023, released on Amazon Prime Video, with Reese serving as an executive producer on the production.
A young singer named Daisy Jones joins forces with Billy Dunne and his band, The Six, as they rise to fame in the 1970s music scene.
Told through interviews, the book reveals the passion, tension, and secrets that led to the band’s breakup at the height of their success.
#4: The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave (2021)
View on Amazon.comThe Last Thing He Told Me was Reese’s May 2021 Book Club pick. Reese described it as the “ultimate page turner”.
Five years later, Laura released a sequel, The First Time I Saw Him, and that was Reese’s January 2026 pick as well.
The Last Thing He Told Me sprang to the top of the Wall Street Journal’s hardcover fiction list, was a New York Times bestseller, remaining on there for 82 weeks and was also a Richard & Judy 2021 Winter Pick.
It was adapted into a TV series on Apple TV starring Jennifer Garner and produced by Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine.
When Owen Michaels disappears, his wife Hannah is left with a note telling her to protect his teenage daughter, Bailey. As the two search for the truth about Owen’s past, they uncover secrets that change everything and slowly build a bond of their own.
#3: The Guest List by Lucy Foley (2020)
View on Amazon.comLucy Foley is one of the biggest thriller authors, recently given the opportunity to write a new Miss Marple novel, and you can trace the roots of her popularity back to June 2020, when Reese picked The Guest List, coincidentally noting that it reminded her of her “favourite stories from Agatha Christie”.
The Guest List went on to win a Goodreads Choice Award for Best Mystery and Thriller, and was nominated at the British Book and Ned Kelly Awards. It was also a CWA Gold Dagger Award longlist nominee.
A glamorous wedding on a remote Irish island turns deadly as old grudges, secrets, and jealousy rise to the surface. Told from multiple points of view, this tense thriller slowly reveals which guest ended up dead and why.
#2: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (2018)
View on Amazon.comIt will likely surprise many to see Where the Crawdads Sing only making #2 on this list. This was one of the most noteworthy books picked by Reese’s Book Club back in September 2018, turning it into an overnight sensation.
It was a debut novel by Delia Owens, and she won the Best Debut Book at the Bookbrowse Awards in 2018. It was also nominated for both Edgar and Macavity Awards, and other book clubs have also selected it, most notably Library Science in May 2020.
It topped all the big bestseller lists from the New York Times to Barnes & Noble, and most notably, was top of the New York Times bestselling list for 25 weeks. It was Publishers Weekly’s #1 bestselling novel in 2019.
In 2022, the book was adapted to a movie starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Taylor John Smith, and was a big success at the box office.
Kya Clark grows up alone in the marsh near a small North Carolina town, learning to survive on her own while staying far from the people who judge her. When a local man is found dead, Kya is pulled into a murder case that forces the town to look at the girl they thought they knew.
#1: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (2015)
View on Amazon.comThe most read Reese’s Book Club book on Book Notification, The Nightingale was released in 2015 but picked by Reese Witherspoon as the March 2023 Book Club pick.
Reese described it as arguably “one of the most powerful, captivating novels about World War II. It has won many awards including the Goodreads Choice for Best Historical Fiction and the Audie Award for Best Fiction.
It was already a very popular book prior to Reese picking it, and was a New York Times fiction bestseller in 2015. It made Abebooks’ 50 Essential Historical Fiction list in 2021.
It is being adapted into a movie starring Dakota and Elle Fanning, with a current release date of February 2027.
Set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, this novel follows two sisters as they face danger, loss, and impossible choices in very different ways. It is a moving story of survival, love, and the strength of women during one of history’s darkest times.
