On the 6th episode of Book Notifications official I Care About Books podcast, Care is joined by the Book Notification Founder Graeme, and the Book Notification Entertainment Editor Vince, to discuss Still Life by Louise Penny.
The first book in the infamous Inspector Gamache series, it has made many lists such as CBC’s “100 Novels That Make You Proud To Be A Canadian”. It also won numerous awards when it debuted sich as the CWA New Blood Dagger Award, the Barry Award for Best First Novel, and the Anthony Award for Best First Mystery.
Despite the book and authors popularity, Graeme noticed that none of Louise Penny’s books had made any of the lists on our Celebrity & Famous Book Clubs so he decided to remedy the situation.
Check out our discussion below, as we talk about the plot, how many misinterpret it as a cozy mystery, the actual Three Pines cafe, and much more. Or listen to it on Spotify.
