On the fourth episode of Book Notifications official I Care About Books podcast, Care is joined by the Book Notification Founder Graeme, and the Book Notification Entertainment Editor Vince, to discuss the 2001 novel The Poisonwood Bible.
Written by the multiple award winning and Pulitzer Prize winner author Barbara Kingsolver, The Poisonwood Bible is a highly regarded novel which was an Oprah Book Club pick in June 2000, and is on many book lists such as AbeBooks 50 Essential Historical Fiction books.
The Poisonwood Bible is about a missionary family who moves to the Congo, where their experiences and mistakes reveal how culture, faith, and guilt can deeply change each of them.
Graeme, Vince and Care discuss the book and its many layers, talk about their favourite characters, and Vince picks the next book on the list.
Check it out on YouTube or Spotify. Note that there are spoilers for the book.
