Farquharson attended Queen's University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Ryerson University where she received a Bachelor of Journalism in Print Media.

Vanessa Farquharson is a renowned environmental storyteller, writer, film critic, and journalist from Canada.

She also works for the National Post as a film critic and arts reporter in Toronto. She has also written Sense & Sustainability, a regular column where she writes about eco-friendly ideas, sustainable living, and environmental issues.

Her writing has been featured in a range of places, from blogs, magazines, on the radio, and in newspapers. For instance, she used to run Green as a Thistle, a blog where she tells of when she tried hundreds of eco-friendly challenges.

Working with Samsun, his loyal sidekick, Jensen does thoughtful but simple acts such as sharing laughs with relatives, fishing with grandpa, gardening with grandma, and helping his parents to bring about happiness.

At school, his generous spirit and politeness make him one of the most popular students who embodies compassion.

In his 2017 novella, The Adventures of Curly Kayla: And The Cake Competition, Vanessa Farquharson tells the story of Kayla.

She just signed up for the baking competition at school and gets ingredients from her garden so that she can make her cake as natural and fresh as possible. But upon arriving, she realizes that other cakes are more popular and even prettier.

Initially hesitant, she gets encouragement from her mother and steps into the competition confident in her natural cake.

In her debut work, Sleeping Naked is Green, which she published in 2009, Vanessa Farquharson tells of the time she spent a year doing eco-friendly challenges every single day.

She chronicles the small changes she made, such as unplugging her fridge, switching her lip balm, and bigger ones, such as getting rid of her car. She shows what is hard, what works, and what feels strange as she asserts that going green is more than just doing a few things.

Vanessa asserts that going green is a personal journey that involves values, choices, and beliefs.
