My only encounter with Trisha Ashley thus far has been through Twelve Days of Christmas. I think I have a basic idea of what I should expect from her. The book wasn’t quite the warm, fuzzy romance tale I expected. But that did not bother me.

If anything, I usually lose interest in romance novels that are clearly trying to manipulate me emotionally. This one was written in the first person, which I hate. But Trisha’s writing kept me engaged. Also, she was very detailed in her descriptions, which kept me immersed in the narrative because I felt like I was standing beside her protagonist, watching as she cooked, cleaned, walked, and the like.
