Anderson is a relatively recent discovery for me. I can’t remember the first book I read from her bibliography. But I remember feeling surprised because she had written a genuine suspense novel. It wasn’t one of those annoying cases where an author tries to mispresent pure romance as romantic suspense.
Anderson delivered a solid mystery with compelling protagonists and antagonists. Later on, as I explored the other books in her bibliography, I grew to appreciate the romantic component.
I don’t mind romance. But sometimes, the aspect is too strong in romantic suspense. Some authors are simply incapable of striking the appropriate balance. Fortunately, Anderson knows what she’s doing.
