Thomas H. Davenport (Thomas Hayes Davenport, Jr.) was born on October 17th, 1954 and is currently 71 years old. Davenport attended Trinity University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Harvard University where he received a Master's degree and a PhD in Sociology.

Thomas H. Davenport is an author, scholar, and professor of Information Technology and Management.

He is an author and speaker who is in high demand, and he has consulted on many topics, including information management, business analytics, and process management, among many others.

Davenport has taught at several prestigious universities in the United States, including the University of Chicago and Harvard.

He has edited, co-authored, and written at least 1o books, including works on achieving value from enterprise systems and business process reengineering.

He has written columns for the ikes of Darwin magazines, InformationWeek and CIO.

In 2003, Consulting Magazine named Professor Thomas H. Davenport to its list of Top 25 Consultants. Two years later, Optimize Magazine named him on its list of the top three Technology/Business Analysts in the world.

Thomas H. Davenport published Competing on Analytics in 2007. The work provides a road map on how to use analytics to compete in the market.

Davenport introduced a unique model of analyzing the competition, even as he explains how to analyze the capabilities of your company and then guide it to achieving its goals despite high levels of competition.

Emphasising autonomous, prescriptive, and predictive analytics for HR, marketing, R&D, supply chain, operations, M&A, and finance to take advantage of technological and human resources to compete.

In 2010, Davenport published the work Analytics at Work, in which he showcases how any manager can use analytics in the ordinary course of business.

He explores the different types of analytical tools, from qualitative measures and statistical analysis to improve business decisions, such as whether marketing dollars are being used in the most efficient way or what new product might be of interest to customers.

It makes use of new research from contemporary companies such as Best Buy and Humana, among many others, to showcase the different models to deploy and succeed with business analytics.
