Stacey Abrams
Stacey Abrams (Stacey Yvonne Abrams) was born on December 9th, 1973 and is currently 51 years old. Stacey Abrams was born in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Abrams attended Spelman College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, University of Texas, Austin where she received a Master of Public Affairs degree and Yale University where she received a Juris Doctor degree.
Stacey Abrams is best known as a politician, author, businessman, and voting rights advocate. She made history when she was nominated for governor by the
Democratic Party, becoming the first woman to ever get such a nomination.
She spent much of her early life in Gulfport where her father was employed as a dockworker while her mother was a librarian. Her parents who were ministers in the
United Methodist tradition taught Stacey and her siblings the value of service to the church, others, and school.
After making waves during a town hall meeting while she was in college, Stacey gained some notoriety. At that meeting, she had aggressively told the mayor that he had failed in his duty toward young people. As such, she was hired as a research assistant when in 1993 the mayor’s office launched an Office of Youth Services.
Once Stacey Abrams was done with her college studies, she got a job in Atlanta as a tax lawyer. By the time she turned 29, she had risen up the ranks to become deputy city attorney of the city leading more than 20 paralegals and attorneys.
Abrams became a member of the Georgia House of Representatives in 2006. Five years later, she was the House’s first Black Minority Leader, a position in which she served for six years. It was while she was Minority Leader that she launched a project to register young people of color to vote.
In 2018, she ran for Georgia governorship but lost by one point. She believed her loss was due to voter suppression and hence founded the
Fair Fight organization to protect voter rights. The organization is credited with getting thousands of voters to register to vote in Georgia.
While Justice Sleeps is a work that Stacey Abrams published in 2021. The work tells the story of Avery Keen, a clerk for a Supreme Court Justice struggling with troubled family life and a demanding job. Her life is turned upside down when her boss slips into a coma leaving her with power of attorney over his cases and as his legal guardian too. Things get even more interesting when she learns that the Justice was working on unearthing a dangerous conspiracy in Washington.

Rogue Justice, which follows the debut novel of the Avery Keen books. With political skirmishes and Congressional hearings all around, Avery meets an assuming young man who clerks for a federal judge in Idaho. The man believes his boss was being blackmailed before she died and gives Keen a file, a fearful warning, and burner phones that they can keep in touch as they investigate.
