He knocked on the doors of 500 of the richest people in the United States to learn how they made their money. Most assert that they got their success due to strategic investments, a desire for independence, and a passion for work.
D’Agostino then takes these conversations and makes them into actionable maxims, which he combines with practical advice and personal anecdotes, to inform his readers on the best habits and mindsets for success.
In his 2015 work,
The Rising, Ryan D’Agostino tells of the journey undertaken by Dr. William Petit, who was the only person to survive a brutal home invasion in 2007.
He lost his entire family during a brutal invasion in which he was severely beaten. He draws from interviews with the man, friends, and family to look into his early life and the community that shaped his perspectives as an adult.
He follows the man from his devastating loss through the trials of the men who killed his wife and children, and ultimately his efforts to get back his life through fatherhood and remarriage.
