I read ‘The Eye of the World’ at 13, and it opened my eyes to an entirely new realm of fantasy. I followed Rand, Mat, and Perrin on their arduous journey for the better part of ten years. Like most fans, I accept that The Wheel of Time has rough patches.

As a child, I was not kind in the opinions I held towards Robert Jordan regarding the sluggish pace in the middle of his epic series. But as an adult, knowing what I know about his ailing health, I have grown to appreciate those books.

I can’t wait to introduce The Wheel of Time to my future children. I re-read the series from start to finish every single year. In my opinion, Jordan has no equal in fantasy fiction, except for maybe Tolkien.
