Raksha Dave

Raksha Dave was born on August 22nd, 1977 and is currently 48 years old. Raksha Dave was born in Blackburn, England. Dave attended the UCL Institute of Archaeology where she received an Archaeology degree.

Raksha Dave is best known as a Public Archaeologist, Field Archaeologist, and broadcaster from the United Kingdom.

It was in 2000 that she worked on her first job as a commercial field archaeologist while living in London. During this time, Raksha Dave was active in a range of research projects, some outside the UK, such as the Catalhoyuk Research Project in Turkey.

In 2003, Dave joined Time Team, the popular archaeology programme on Channel Four. She would go on to become a regular contributor to the show until it aired its last episode in 2013.

It was while she was working as an excavator that she realized that she loved working with the public and communities, even as she worked for a London local authority. During this time, she was part of a team that commissioned, developed, and delivered public services in education in support of a government initiative.

At some point, Raksha Dave went back to the heritage sector, where she was involved in various things.

Since that time, Raksha Dave has gone back to broadcasting and Public Archaeology. She currently works as a consultant and advocate for a range of arts organizations, even as he also works on broadcasting projects.

In 2023, Raksha Dave published the work Lessons from Our Ancestors, in which he looks into 14 ancient civilizations from 50 artifacts obtained through archeology to highlight themes of community, sustainability, and equality.

Targeting young readers, the work challenges Eurocentric stereotypes, as it highlights a range of cultures from the advanced urban societies of the Indus Valley to the Catalhoyuk and their gender equal society.

Dave stresses the importance of archeology being inclusive, in addition to encouraging readers to not only look at history as just facts and dates, but as a way of informing the building of a better future by learning from what happened in the past.
