Philip Goff

Philip Goff is a British author, philosopher, and professor at Durham University in Britain.

Goff mainly focuses on the philosophy of consciousness and mind, asking questions about the nature of experience. He also emphasizes ideas that run counter to conventional scientific explanations and prompt people to reflect more on reality.

He is known as one of the biggest defenders of panpsychism, a view that human consciousness is the building block of the universe and that even the smallest particles may have it. He believes that panpsychism is a new way of thinking and understanding how consciousness arises beyond science.
