Pete Greig is a Christian author, pastor, and leader, and the founder of the 24-7 Prayer Movement.

The 24-7 Prayer Movement began as a simple prayer initiative in 1999, and it was not long before it quickly spread across the globe. The movement is now spread across half the countries in the world, with thousands of people taking part in continuous prayer.

Pete Greig’s idea for the Prayer Movement began when he and several friends established a 24-hour prayer space in their local area. However, what was initially a small experiment quickly expanded as people in different countries created similar prayer spaces centred on social action, mission, and prayer.

Pete is also the Senior Pastor of the Guildford-based Emmaus Rd Church. He also works at St Mellitus College as an Associate Tutor and is an Ambassador for Tearfund, the charity.

He has also been involved in a range of Christian initiatives, including serving as Director of Prayer at the London-based Holy Trinity Brompton.

As a speaker, Pete Greig has been invited to conferences and churches around the world, as well as to many other public venues. He has become one of the most influential pastors across the various Christian traditions, showcasing the wide appeal of his voice.

In 2003, Pete Greig published the work Red Moon Rising, in which he reflects on the foundation and development of the 24-7 Prayer Movement.

He explains the different modes of prayer, including reflecting, listening, and asking, using real-life stories to show how people can deal with unanswered prayer, distraction, and doubt.
