Reading Paige Shelton’s books reminds me of the reason why I love cozy mysteries. The genre is character-driven, and Shelton proves this repeatedly by not only creating engaging characters but also allowing us to watch them grow with each novel.
While you can read Shelton’s books out of order, for the best experience, you should read each series from the start. This lets you understand the relationships between the characters, which, in turn, allows you to enjoy the transformation these relationships undergo.
This is why cozy mystery readers want to live in cozy mystery towns. The sense of community found in settings like the ones Shelton creates is appealing.
Very much enjoy the Alaska Wild and the Scottish Bookshop series. The characters are interesting and the writing is very smooth. I always look for the new stories when they come out.
