Doctor Who and its spin-offs, particularly as the voice of the Daleks and Cybermen in the modern series.
Briggs is also the executive producer of Big Finish Productions, a company that creates
Doctor Who audio dramas. He has written, directed, and acted in many of these productions.

Doctor Who spin-offs, such as

Doctor Who Magazine comic strip in 1991. In the late 1990s, his face was used as the model for a supposed "Ninth Doctor" in the magazine’s storyline, though it was later revealed as a deception.

In Memory Alone, starring former
Doctor Who actors Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant. He later wrote and acted in

Rose. He also voiced the Jagrafess (
The Long Game), the Judoon (
The Sarah Jane Adventures), and the Ice Warrior Skaldak (
Cold War, 2013).
In 2009, he played government advisor Rick Yates in the
Torchwood miniseries
Children of Earth. He continued to direct, write, and provide voices for Big Finish audio dramas, including the
Dalek Empire and
Cyberman series. In 2006, he became co-executive producer of Big Finish.
Briggs has also appeared in stage and charity productions, voicing the Daleks in
The Daleks' Master Plan and playing a version of the Doctor. In 2010, he starred as Winston Churchill in
Doctor Who Live.
In 2012, he published the
Doctor Who novel
The Dalek Generation. In 2013, he portrayed Dalek voice actor Peter Hawkins in the BBC drama
An Adventure in Space and Time, which chronicled the early days of
