Neil Clarke is the Hugo Award-winning editor of Clarkesworld Magazine and a leading figure in contemporary science fiction publishing.

Neil Clarke is the founder and editor-in-chief of Clarkesworld Magazine, a multiple Hugo Award-winning publication known for its cutting-edge science fiction and fantasy. He also edits Forever Magazine and the annual Best Science Fiction of the Year anthology series, curating standout stories from around the globe. His editorial vision has helped shape the genre’s future by championing innovative narratives and diverse voices.

Clarke’s contributions to speculative fiction have earned him widespread recognition. He is a ten-time finalist and current winner of the Hugo Award for Best Editor (Short Form), a three-time Chesley Award recipient for Best Art Director, and the 2019 winner of the Kate Wilhelm Solstice Award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) for his significant impact on the field.

His recent editorial projects include New Voices in Chinese Science Fiction, co-edited with Xia Jia and Regina Kanyu Wang, which showcases emerging talent and cross-cultural storytelling. Clarke’s commitment to international speculative fiction has made Clarkesworld a key venue for translated works, particularly from Chinese authors.
