Eisner is known for having spent a significant amount of time in the most challenging parts of the world, helping people. Following his education, he moved to South East Asia and found work at a refugee camp on the Thai-Cambodian border.
Michael Alexander would then move to Chile, where he witnessed the rise of democracy as the country transitioned from military rule under Pinochet and joined many South American nations on a similar path. His experience made him an expert in international law.
Later, he utilized his skills in peace efforts in the Middle East under the US State Department.
Michael Alexander Eisner has also traveled extensively in the Middle East, particularly in Syria. He once visited
Krak des Chevaliers, an ancient fort, which inspired his popular novel
The Crusader, published in 1999.
He currently makes his home in Brooklyn, New York, from where he writes about the many experiences in his life and mind. He loves to tell stories that combine personal journeys with big history.

Given his bizarre behavior, including signs of being possessed, he is taken to a monastery cell where he is chained. A monk known as Brother Lucas asks him to tell his story so that he can get back a sense of normalcy. He proceeds to share about the pain, betrayal, and the battles he fought.
Combining strong emotions, traumatic memories, and real history, it is a story that illustrates how war profoundly affects people.
