For me, this was a highly anticipated read. Once I got it, I even saved it for about a week until I went on a Carribean cruise. I wanted something good to read. I learned about this book after it was compared to “Dog Soldiers”. I’ve been a fan of Squatch a long time, so I thought this had to be good. Right?
WRONG!!!!!!!
After the “Introduction” of the book, it took over one hundred and thirty pages before it even slightly started to get interesting. And way before that you learn to root for the Squatches to kill off everyone. The characters were awful. The whole community was nothing but leftwing Snowflakes. You learned not to care for any of them. The community was so under prepared for any kind of an emergency. I won’t go into detail of what they “don’t have”. The way the story was told was odd. It was told by the way of a diary left behind by someone. Made for a weird read.
The only saving grace was the last chapter or two. I so much wanted this book to be good. Read at your own risk.
