Several members of the society have been felled by some potent neurotoxins with the killers leaving behind cryptic death notes. The problem is that there are so many people who could have a motive that it would be almost impossible to sift and narrow down to the real suspects.

In Another Death in Venice, Kwame Anthony Appiah tells the story of Sir Patrick Scot the amateur sleuth and well-known barrister, and his wife who are traveling to Venice on the Orient Express. They arrive to delicious meals and effortless hospitality from their host and could not have been happier until an Australian acquaintance they made on the Orient Express is found dead in one of the canals.
