Justin Giboney

Justin E. Giboney is an Atlanta-based ordained minister, political strategist, and attorney.

He is also the president and co-founder of the Christian civic organization the AND Campaign, which mobilizes people to engage in politics with conviction and compassion.

Working mostly with Christians, it guides people to act in line with Biblical teaching, engage in respectful dialogue, and be informed about civic matters. It brings together Christians from a range of backgrounds to act responsibly, speak wisely, and think clearly in society.

Giboney has been in charge of political campaigns in Georgia for prominent elected officials. As a champion for better services, he has been behind public referenda on water systems and transportation in Atlanta.

In 2012 and 2016, Justin Giboney attended the Democratic National Convention as a representative of Georgia’s 5th congressional district. During the Obama for America campaign, he co-chaired the Gen44-Atlanta initiative.

In addition to his work in political campaigns, he has served as a director of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, demonstrating his longstanding commitment to community development and civil rights.

Justin Giboney is regularly invited to give his perspectives through features and interviews at major outlets such as Christianity Today and The New York Times. Some of his work has also been featured on The Hill and Christianity Today.

Giboney is also an author, and in 2020, he published the book Compassion (&) Conviction to explain how Christians can engage in politics without having to choose between social responsibility and faith.

Christians have often been forced to choose between supporting Biblical values and social justice, opposing abortion or women’s rights, which can discourage engagement and divide the church.

The authors show that Christians can engage in political action to promote Biblical values and still love their neighbors.

Giboney guides readers on racial issues, advocacy, messaging, and protests, helping them navigate politics with both conviction and compassion.

In 2025, Justin Giboney published Don’t Let Nobody Turn You Around, in which he shows how Christians can take part in public life without necessarily having to fight in culture wars.

Justin examines the long history of faith-driven civic action of the Black church using public witness and spirituals as examples of justice and courage. He explains how the church has put together action with belief, as he advocates for justice, even as it speaks against enmity and division.

Justin Giboney provides a structured model for engaging with social issues that values both social justice and moral order. He calls on all Christians to act with Christ-like love, integrity, and courage to make a meaningful impact in the public square.
