Julie Dawn Cole is a psychotherapist and actress. She started her career as a child performer playing Veruca Salt in the 1971 film version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

She was 12 when she got the part during the first half of 1970, which they filmed at the Bavaria Film Studios.

Denise Nickerson (who played Violet Beauregarde), and she both had crushes on Peter Ostrum (Charlie Bucket), and would alternate days spending time with him during filming breaks.

The “I Want It Now” sequence was filmed the day she turned 13 and she was given three film props: a golden ticket, a golden egg prop, and an Everlasting Gobstopper. She’s stated that her character in the movie was based on this girl that went to the same boarding school as her.

After filming the movie, she got parts on TV shows, often getting cast in the bad girl roles.

In 1975, she got her breakout role getting cast as one of the leading characters in Angels. Breaking the bad girl mould, she played a second year nurse named Jo Longhurst. Her role on the show lasted for 3 years.
