Johnny Carson (John William Carson) was born on October 23rd, 1925. Johnny passed away January 23rd, 2005 at 79 years old. Johnny Carson was born in Corning, Iowa, USA. Carson attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio and speech.

Johnny Carson was an American comedian and talk show host who was best known for hosting The Tonight Show. He set the tone for American talk shows, and his format would become the standard for most modern talk shows.

As an adult, Carson served in the Navy during the Second World War. Thereafter, he engaged in theatre and then got a job in Lincoln working for a radio station. He got another radio job in Omaha before he got another in Los Angeles, working as an announcer for a TV station.

After successfully hosting a Sunday afternoon comedy show, he was offered a job on the Red Skelton Show as a writer. Since the executives loved his performance, he was offered a variety show titled The Johnny Carson Show.

Johnny Carson then moved to New York, and in 1957, he started hosting Who Do You Trust? It was in 1962 that he started hosting The Tonight Show after replacing Jack Paar. He went on to host the show for nearly thirty years, thus influencing a whole generation of TV viewers.

In the early 1970s, he moved from New York to Los Angeles, which had the effect of making the latter the center of the television industry in the United States and the world.

His legacy includes the creation of some of the most popular characters on TV, such as Carnac the Magnificent and Aunt Blabby. He also became one of the most beloved performers in the United States and created a massive number of classic skits.

On his final appearance on The Tonight Show, more than 50 million people tuned in, making history as the largest audience on the show ever.

In 1965, Johnny Carson published Happiness is … a Dry Martini, a satirical and comedic collection of parodies that come with adult-oriented and sharp one-liners.

Every page comes with a punchline that begins with Happiness is. as it discusses themes such as contemporary anxieties, aging, and relationships. It is a work that captures the Rat Pack era sensibility of the 1960s and provides insights into the cultural humor of the time.
