Jerry Ahern was an American science fiction writer who also wrote non-fiction books, action novels, and articles for various firearms publications. As a former president of a firearms company and producer of his own line of holsters, Ahern was widely considered an expert in firearms.
He published his debut novel in 1980 and his first non-fiction book in 1996. Some of the firearms publications he contributed to include

Together with his wife, Ahern founded and operated Ahern Enterprises, a handgun company, and served as the president of Detonics from 2004 to 2007. He is also well-known for his post-apocalyptic
Survivalist series.
Most of his books share common themes of self-defense, integrity, perseverance, and survival. Ahern wrote over 80 books in collaboration with his wife, Sharon. While most of his books are published under his own name, he occasionally used pseudonyms like Nick Carter, Axel Kilgore, and Red Mitchell. After his death, his wife Sharon continued some of his series with the help of their family friend, author Bob Anderson.
