Jennette McCurdy is an American singer, actress, filmmaker, and writer best known for her role in the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly. The dynamic and spunky actress started acting when she was just eight years old. It wasn't long before she landed numerous roles in films and TV before getting her big break on iCarly in 2007, where she portrayed Sam Puckett for five years.

Jennette McCurdy has also starred in Between, a Netflix series, and for a while, she tried her hand at making country music under the Nashville-based Capitol Records. Her appeal across different fronts made it seem as if she was an upcoming talent with unlimited potential.

However, while everyone marveled at her success, she often felt ashamed of much of her resume and frequently felt unfulfilled. This shame regarding her achievements led her to turn to alcohol, but when that did not help, she stopped acting and began pursuing directing and writing in 2017. Since then, she has directed and written four short films and a pilot.
