Janina Matthewson is an actress and author from Christchurch, New Zealand who now lives and works in London.

Matthewson loved storytelling from when she was very young and living in Christchurch. Since she did all manner of sketches and skits attending church as a kid, she knew she wanted to do something in the vein of storytelling right from a very young age.

Matthewson is now a freelance creative who makes money crafting audio dramas alongside a bunch of writing work from her home in London a few hundred meters from the Thames.

Since 2016, Janina Matthewson has been a co-writer of a genre-blending podcast titled Within the Wires alongside Jeffrey Cranor who is the writer of the successful fiction podcast Welcome to Night Vale. The Within Wires podcast is set in an alternate universe where families have been scattered and countries have been abolished.

In 2014, Janina published her first novel, Of Things Gone Astray.
