During his 37-year career, Stavridis earned over 50 medals, 28 of which are from foreign countries. Early in his military career, he won the Battenberg Cup for commanding the top ship in the Atlantic Fleet. He was also vetted for the vice president position by Hillary Clinton in 2016 and invited by Donald Trump to discuss a cabinet seat.
James Stavridis has published over a dozen books and numerous articles in popular journals around the world. He also serves as Chief International Security Analyst for NBC News and is a Bloomberg opinion columnist.
