Kennedy School of Government where he received a Harvard University National Security Program for Senior Executives in Government.
Frank Figliuzzi is best known for his work with the FBI, where he was an assistant director in counterintelligence. He has also worked for MSNBC and NBC News as a national security contributor.
In his earlier years, he worked as a Special Agent in the FBI for more than 25 years, directing espionage activities. In this role, he was responsible for providing regular briefs to the Department of Justice, Congress, and the White House.
He was also in charge of the
Office of Professional Responsibility at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he ensured high ethical standards and dealt with cases of serious internal misconduct.
During his career with the FBI, he worked on many major cases involving financial crimes, corruption, and espionage. In Florida, which had the first anthrax murder case, he was in charge of the on-scene hazardous material evidence recovery.
Following his retirement from the FBI, he became a corporate security executive at a Fortune 10 company. In this role, he managed special event security, global investigations, workplace violence prevention, and insider threat programs for more than 200,000 people in more than 180 countries.
On TV, he is known for his analysis of national security issues, including mass shooting incidents and Russian interference investigations. Drawing from years of experience in law enforcement and intelligence, he continues to advise and educate on risk management, violence prevention, and leadership.
In his first work,
The FBI Way, Figliuzzi draws from his time as the ethical officer at the FBI.
He explains how he maintained excellence at the Bureau through several core values: Consistency, Code, Credibility, Conservancy, Compassion, Clarity, and Consequences. He combines personal experience with insights into why ethical people sometimes do unethical things.
Both a leadership guide and memoir, this work demonstrates how anyone can apply the FBI's principles to achieve lasting success, discipline, and integrity.
Three years later, in 2024, Frank Figliuzzi published the work
Long Haul, in which he exposed a series of horrific murders that were supposedly committed by long-haul truck drivers in the US.
At more than 850 homicides since 2004, the FBI finally took action as it established the
Highway Serial Killings Initiative.
The author explores infamous cases such as the “Interstate Strangler” and the “Truck Stop Killer”. He spoke with survivors of violence and trafficking, investigated the culture on the road, and traveled with truckers.
He shows how mobility, opportunity, and isolation could trigger crime.
