Elektra Hammond
Elektra Hammond was born on June 5th, 1961 and is currently 64 years old. Elektra Hammond was born in Englewood, NJ.
Elektra Hammond is an author who has contributed short stories to various anthologies throughout the years.
Elektra has been working in the publishing world since the 1990s, as a copy editor and proof reader. She worked for the website BuzzyMag.com as a fiction editor, which would entail receiving submitted short stories, working with the authors and doing some developmental editing on the stories, so that they could be published on BuzzyMag.com.
Elektra first entered the publishing world by working for Baen Books as a proofreader. The most notable story she wrote is "The Case of the Duchess's Dog", a steampunk story which can be found in "In An Iron Cage". That was a Steampunk-themed anthology, with submissions from the likes of
C.J. Henderson,
Stuart Jaffe and
David Sherman.
Elektra also worked on the editing of that anthology alongside Neal Levin and Danielle Ackley-McPhail. She found the editing on this one challenging because it was a steampunk-shared world invented by C.J. Her job was to coordinate all the details between each story and ensure that the character in each story was consistent within each short story.
Elektra also edited the anthology "Cats in Space." This was Paper Golem's 11th volume and featured seven short science-fiction stories related to the world of space and cats.
Along with being a writer and editor, Elektra was a show judge for the International Cat Association. Elektra is a cat lover who has owned a Buckaroo Banzaii in the past, and is a former cat breeder. She ran the website BlueBlaze.com, which was a website dedicated to their breeding.
Elektra also has the website UntilMidnight.com, where she writes about her career. She did book reviews for TICA Trend, the International Cat Association's official magazine.
