Doug Duperrault was an American pulp fiction novelist who has sometimes been referred to as Doug du Perrault. In addition to his writing, he was also involved in community service and broadcasting for many years.
It was in the 1950s that Dupperault began writing, publishing provocative, puppy fiction that explored gritty relationships and taboo subjects. His works typified the bodice ripper fiction of the era, which he sold in paperback and digest-sized formats.
In addition to his writing, Doug Duperrault became a prominent voice on television and radio in Tampa. From the early 1960s to 1991, when he retired, he worked at the Tampa-based
WFLA AM/FM, serving in community relations, promotions, programming, and marketing.
He was also involved in civic efforts in his community and worked as the director of community efforts. Some of the organizations that he worked with included
Tampa United Way,
American Cancer Society, and many other regional organizations.
He died at age 76 and left a lasting legacy in his work as a pulp fiction author, broadcaster, and committed civic leader.
