A motorcycle visit to the Colorado city of Snowmass in 1977 would result in a nearly 30-year-long residency at
Tower Comedy Magic Bar by John Denver. He took over from Bob Sheets, the famous bar magician, and made the venue legendary for conversational magic and intimate card tricks.
At the
Tower, Doc Eason became a master of storytelling and sleight of hand routines as he combined magic and salesmanship in a novel way. His skills in improvisation, crowd interaction, and memory would be critical in building rapport with the patrons who could not get enough of him.
Over the years, Doc Eason has gained much respect for sharing routines, secrets, and giving lectures to magicians. His workshops, known for their bar bits, practical wisdom, and humour, would inspire tens of entertainers.
Even though the
Tower shut down in 2004, Doc Eason still performs at the Hollywood-based
Magic Castle and occasionally in
Snowmass. He has been honoured with several awards for his unparalleled contributions to magic education and bar magic.
