This adaptation was the winner of a Cesar Award for Best Film. 2015: The UK saw an adaptation starring Holiday Grainger and Richard Madden. This was released as a TV movie on the BBC. 2022: A version of Lady Chatterleys Lover was released on Netflix on December 2nd, 2022. It stars Emma Corrin as Lady Chatterley. There were also two softcore adult movies made in 1977 and 1985 called Young Lady Chatterley 1 and 2. Harlee McBride starred in both movies, with Adam West featured in the sequel. Other movies based on D.H. Lawrence novels in alphabetical order are: Kangaroo: This 1987 drama from Australia was based on the novel of the same title. It starred Colin Friels and Judy Davis. It received two AFI award nominations. Odour of Chrysanthemums: This was a short movie released in 2002 based on the short story written by Lawrence. It won an award at the Milan Film Festival Sons and Lovers: This was a UK drama adapted in 1960. It received many oscar nominations, and starred Trevor Howard, Wendy Hiller and Dean Stockwell. The Fox: A 1967 Canadian film, which is based on the short story by D.H. It starred Sandy Dennis and Anne Heywood, and was also the debut for director Mark Rydell. Some changes were made such as taking place in Canada as opposed to England. The Rainbow: This 1987 British movie stars Sammi Davis as the lead character Ursula Brangwen. It is based on the novel The Rainbow. The Rocking Horse Winner: A 1949 fantasy adaptation of the novel, directed and written by Anthony Pelissier. The Virgin and the Gypsy: This Uk adaptation of the novel had Alan Plater write the screenplay. Many critics voted it the best movie of the year. It stars Joanna Shimkus and Franco Nero. Women in Love: This 1969 adaptation of the 1920 novel was nominated for many awards. Actress Glenda Jackson won the Best Actress award at the Academy Awards that year. A two part TV movie was also made which was a combination of The Rainbow and Women in Love. This was for the BBC, and starred the likes of Rosamund Pike, Rachael Stirling and Rory Kinnear.
