Catherine does her best work doing the FBI series of novels, and Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock are outstanding and their chemistry with one another hooked me on this series. Sherlock’s introduction, in The Maze, is also fantastic. Each of the books are tough to put down and are highly engrossing. Whenever people ask for book recommendations, it’s this series I go to first.
That said, it was her historical work that introduced me to her work, with The Offer being the first of hers I read. The novel is great as it honestly depicts the physical pain of losing you virginity and illustrates how sex ain’t all roses and pleasure.
Authors like Catherine Coulter, who started writing on a dare, always fascinate me because you cannot help but wonder what would have happened if the dare hadn’t occurred. Would we have missed out on their talent? Or would they have stumbled into publishing some other way? I guess we will never know.
Coulter was my mother’s favorite author. I remember seeing her books everywhere when I was growing up. If I’m being honest, it annoyed me. But as an adult, my habits are the same.
If you visit my home, you will find Coulter’s books in random locations. But I see it as a good thing because it means that her novels are always within arm’s reach.
Point Blank is one of the best of her FBI series. These are quick reads but do have a lot of character dialog that sometimes slows it down a bit.
Just finished “The Sixth Day” from Coulter’s A Brit in the FBI series. Her characters are always interesting and I love following them from book to book.
