Reiss’ books are not appropriate for younger readers. Sometimes I wonder whether they are even appropriate for me. Reiss doesn’t hold back. Her sex scenes are as vulgar as they come.
Initially, I wasn’t unimpressed by the supporting cast. If I’m being honest, that hasn’t changed after reading seven novels in the Songs of Submission series. But the supporting cast is no longer a detriment. I am more than happy to lose myself in the sensual trials and adventures of Reiss’ sultry protagonists.
The covers are a little odd. I don’t know what to make of them. Then again, the only reason I read ‘Beg’ is because I couldn’t figure out what I was looking at when I saw the cover.
