It is easy to dismiss Eisley as a Robert Ludlum wannabe if all you’ve read are the synopses of his books. But I’ve consumed enough of his novels to know that he transcends such labels.
His books feature the kinds of three-dimensional characters you rarely see in genre fiction. I don’t think I fully appreciated his skills as a storyteller and wordsmith until I read The Killer Collective.
This was the 11th novel in the John Rain series, and yet it felt just as fresh and innovative as the first. Eisley’s books are lean and easy to consume. The author delivers a glut of action without going overboard.
