I discovered Holt at a low point in my life. I was spending far too many hours by myself because of a health condition, and the sympathy of friends and family did not help my mood.

1222 shocked me because I saw a bit of Hanne in myself. Not only was she wheelchair-bound, but she was shockingly antisocial. She liked people, but she did not want them to show any interest in her.

I empathized with that mindset. I have moments where I would like nothing better than to bask in the sun with my neighbors. But the thought of all those eyes on me is off-putting.
