After graduating from Baylor in 1993, she was an intern on
Late Night with Conan O’Brien, the talk show. She described it as an awesome experience. She worked for Max Weinberg, the show’s band leader and drummer. It inspired Angela to take a coast-to-coast road trip with a buddy from New York City to California.
She moved to LA and took improv class with The Groundlings and at iO West. Following a two woman show at iO, she was an operator at 1-800-Dentist and made little one episode appearances in different sitcoms.
Early in 2005, she auditioned for Pam Beesly for
The Office. After the producers told her that she was just a little too feisty for Pam, she got a callback to audition for Angela Martin, which she wound up winning.
