The Witcher has been adapted for television multiple times. The first time it was way back in 2001 when it was made into a series for Polish film. It was then followed up by a Polish television series titled Wied?min in 2002. The series was considered to be much better than the movie, but the poor reception of the movie and the short time between the release of the two ended with the show being canceled after thirteen episodes.

The Witcher was then adapted into a television series for Netflix in 2019. The series starred Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Freya Allan as Ciri. Cavill was later repalced as Geralt of Rivia in season four as Liam Hemsworth took over the role. The series was well received and was one of the most watched streaming series on Netflix. It had 541 million hours viewed in the first 28 days of release.

A live-action prequel series set 1200 years before Geralt's time was ordered in 2020. It is a limited series titled The Witcher: Blood Origin. The four episode series debuted on December 25th, 2022.

Netflix also made an order for a family-friendly animated version of The Witcher to air as a series.
