Amerie (Amerie Mi Marie Rogers Nicholson) was born on January 12th, 1980 and is currently 46 years old. Amerie was born in Fitchburg, MA, USA.

Amerie is an actress, writer, and singer-songwriter. She’s released a number of albums and is known for “1 Thing”, her 2005 single from her second album.

While she studied at Georgetown, she befriended a Washington, DC club promoter that eventually put her in touch with Rich Harrison, a producer. They met up at a McDonald’s, where Rich played tracks for her and she sang along. Immediately they knew that it was something special.

Her debut album, called “All I Have” was released in 2002 to generally positive reviews. Rich Harrison co-wrote and produced the album. It peaked at 9 on Billboard 200 and sold 89,000 copies during its first week of release, and has been certified gold by the RIAA and had sold 657,000 copies by 2009.

She appeared in First Daughter, which was directed by Forest Whitaker, gaining additional recognition and she starred along with Katie Holmes.

Amerie is heavily involved within the creative process of her music, getting not just writing credits but also instrumentation and production credits as well.

She’s listed diverse array of musical influences, including Motown era soul music, late 60s rock n roll, 80s pop music and new wave, heavy metal, the movie Grease, hip hop, R&B, Korean traditional, and Germany music.

This Is Not a Ghost Story is about a Black man that walks into the light and finds he’s in Los Angeles, where he becomes an immediate celebrity for being the first verifiable and visible ghost.

John’s House provides everything he needs. Surrounded by a vast and gorgeous ocean under a void of sky, this House is his haven. He’s alone, yet never lonely; he’s here now, yet neither longs nor remembers a time before. In his House, he’s untroubled and safe.

However then there is this horrible shadow creature breaks in, and wants him out. Pushed out of the House, John falls into the light.

He finds he’s in modern LA, the first person that’s ever returned from the other side. Even though he’s got no memory of his past life, or even how he died, everybody wants to know so much about the Black man that’s returned from the dead. Could he be the second coming? Just a hoax? Or something beyond explanation? Soon he’s got TV interviews, brand deals, and politicians aiming to use him for their own agendas, but all he wants to do is to go home.
