I will say the unpopular thing. ‘Practical Magic’ the movie is better than ‘Practical Magic,’ the book. I watched the live-action adaptation at a young age. I continued to re-watch it throughout my teens and 20s.
So naturally, I have a stronger attachment to the movie than I do to the book. However, I still encourage fans of the movie to read the book. The book and movie are two separate entities.
Therefore, don’t be so quick to assume that the book will bore you to tears because you know the story. ‘Practical Magic’ the novel is a brand-new experience. You owe it to yourself to read the book just to see how it differs from the movie.
