Adam Rippon

Adam Rippon is a retired competitive figure skater and a media personality. He’s the 2010 Four Continents Champion, the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist in the team event, and the 2016 US National Champion.
He began skating when he was just 10 years old; his mom skated and brought him along to the rink with her. From 2000 to 2007, he was coached by Yelena Sergeeva.
During the 2004-05 season, he won a silver medal at the Novice level at the 2005 US Championships. After nationals had ended, he was assigned this spring international assignment, the Triglav Trophy in Slovenia 2005, and he competed in the junior division, taking the gold medal and winning first place.
At the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final in 2008, he won the gold, and became the first man to break 200 points at a Junior level competition.
Adam went on to the 2008 US Championships, where he won the Junior title. He was recognized by the Professional Skaters Association as having the best men’s free skate at the National Championships, and was given the EDI Award.
His signature move is his “Rippon Lutz”, which is a triple Lutz that he executes with both arms above his head. He’s capable of performing the triple Lutz/double toe loop/double loop jump combo with a hand over his head in all three of these jumps.
